Body Liposculpture

Body liposculpture is a common surgical procedure which removes undesirable fat from subcutaneous tissues. This fat is usually unresponsive to diet and exercise and often has a genetic component.

It should be emphasized that body liposculpture is not a weight-loss technique. Its goal is to create a more aesthetic body contour. Given this goal, Dr. Afshar focuses not only on effectively removing fatty deposits, but also on doing it in such a way as to enhance the patient’s silhouette.

Results become apparent within one month and may continue to improve for several more months. Patients tend to not only love their “bikini body,” but also how they look with their favorite clothes on. This satisfaction makes the procedure very rewarding for both patient and doctor.

Other applications of liposculpting include addressing male gynecomastia and harvesting fat for transfer to other parts of the body. This latter procedure is a great way to improve facial contours with a “filler” which is from the patient’s own body and which can last permanently.
