Andrew A. Afshar received his baccalaureate degrees from Akron University in Natural Sciences and Chemical Engineering. He received his DDS from the Case Western Reserve University and his MD from the University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery training at the Methodist Hospitals in Dallas, Texas.

Dr. Afshar completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the L.A. County/University of Southern California Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.
Dr. Afshar has had research interests in surgery and orthodontics and has published a number of abstracts and papers in these areas. Dr. Afshar has received numerous academic scholarships and honors in his career.
Dr. Afshar practices the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with special interest in dentoalveolar and implant surgery, oral pathology, orthognathic surgery, distraction osteogenesis, cleft lip and palate reconstruction, reconstructive surgery for obstructive sleep disorders, craniofacial traumatology and the surgical management of temporomandibular joint dysfunction.
