The Face and Jaw Surgery Center was founded by Dr. John T. Keaveny who practiced in central and western North Dakota for more than twenty-five years. Dr. Gerard F. Koorbusch joined the practice in 1991 from the faculty of the University of Iowa. Dr. Scott A. Preisler relocated to North Dakota from Wisconsin and joined the group in 1993. In 1998, Dr. Rayanne F. Shannon joined the group after her retirement as a career officer in the United States Air Force. In December 2001, Dr. Keaveny retired from the Face and Jaw Surgery Center to pursue a more personal and flexible schedule.

In October 2000, Dr. Scott A. Preisler relocated to Fargo, North Dakota to open the eastern division of the Face and Jaw Surgery Center. In 2002 he was joined in that endeavor by Dr. Charles A. Crago. Dr. Crago relocated to Fargo from New Mexico. In early 2002, Drs. Preisler and Crago jointly opened the Face and Jaw Surgery of Grand Forks, North Dakota. In May of 2003, Dr. Omar C. Chahal relocated from Louisiana to join the practice and work in the Grand Forks and Fargo practices.

In July 2003, Dr. Andrew A. Afshar joined Drs. Koorbusch and Shannon in the western division of the practice.

The Face and Jaw Surgery Centers encompass four clinical facilities in Bismarck, Fargo, Minot, and Grand Forks. The full time staff includes more than forty health team members. Our administrative staff is directed by Linda Kleinjan and Doreen Binstock.
