Gerald F. Koorbusch, DDS, MBA

Gerard F. Koorbusch, DDS, MBA, received his Baccalaureate Degree from Georgetown University in Biology in 1969. He continued his education at Georgetown University and received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1973. In 1987 he received his Master's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut.

Dr. Koorbusch served his internship in dental medicine in Mount Sinai Hospital in Hartford Connecticut and his oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Catholic Medical Center of Brooklyn and Queens in New York.

Dr. Koorbusch was in private practice in north central Connecticut from 1977 through 1988 with academic appointments at the Hartford Hospital, Mount Sinai Hospital, and the University of Connecticut Health Center. In 1988 he joined the faculty of the University of Iowa College of Dentistry as an Assistant Professor and Director of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is the author or co-author of more than 35 scientific articles, book chapters, abstracts, and reviews within the scientific literature.

Dr. Koorbusch joined Face & Jaw Surgery Center in 1991 and maintains hospital privileges at St. Alexius Medical Center and MedCenter One in Bismarck, ND.

Dr. Koorbusch is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and maintains fellowships in the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a fellow of both the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists. He is a member and distinguished practitioner in dentistry of the National Academies of Practice and has received membership in Omicron Kappa Epsilon and Beta Gamma Signa academic recognition societies for dentistry and business administration. He was awarded the Wall Street Journal Award by the University of Connecticut in 1988 and Instructor of the Year at the College of Dentistry in 1988 to 1989.

Dr. Koorbusch has also maintained membership in a number of national, regional, and local organizations. Most notably, he has been a member of numerous national committees of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and served as a member of its Board of Trustees from 1998 through 2002.
