Dr. Shannon completed a residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at David Grant Medical Center, Travis Air Force Base, California. She was assigned to the Minot Air Force Base in 1994 and relocated to Minot with her family. Dr. Shannon is married to Dr. Michael Shannon, a periodontist in private practice in Minot. They are the parents of three grown children, Derek, Erin, and Emily.
Dr. Shannon retired from the Air Force after twenty years of active service. Her military career included assignments in Florida, South Dakota, Texas, Republic of the Philippines, California, and North Dakota.
Dr. Shannon's clinical interests include in-office anesthesia and sedation, dentoalveolar surgery, especially preventive third molar removal, and dental implants for the replacement of missing teeth.
Dr. Shannon is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and maintains fellowship in the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and is a member of numerous national, regional, and local professional organizations. Dr. Shannon has staff privileges at Trinity Medical Center.
